Fire hydrant systems with a shape-resistant hose are a very effective extinguishing agent with a constant water supply that is immediately accessible. The requirements for these systems are such as to ensure prompt operation by one person.

Dimensions:

Inspection of hydrant systems is carried out by a trained inspection technician in accordance with the relevant standards and regulations.

The hydrant system consists of:

1. Hydrant body - made from sheet steel.
   Pressurised water is fed through the centre of the drum, allowing the system to be used immediately.
   Surface treatment - powder textured paint designed for indoor use (can be supplied for outdoor use by agreement with the manufacturer).
   Full door and frame construction - sheet steel
2.  Dimensionally stable hose PH - stable D with 25mm clearance - 20bm length.
3. Nickel plated brass ball valve (D25-1'' systems).
4. Combination fire hose D 25 eq.6 - flow rate Q < 1.1 l/s, consisting of body and swivel head in polypropylene. The swivel head allows the adjustment of the full jet, the spray jet with a variable cone angle from 0 to 110° and the shut-off of the jet pipe.
5. Connecting hose for connecting the system to the water supply.

System installation

When selecting a specific type of equipment, hose systems with a hose with a nominal clearance of at least 25 mm are mainly fitted with:

a) in fire compartments of production halls (according to ČSN 73 0804) and warehouses (according to ČSN 73 0845)
(b) in fire compartments (buildings) with linear fire spread rate v1 > 1.2 m/min; without further proof, values of v1 according to Table B.1 in Annex B may be used for selected premises 
(c) in buildings or parts of buildings designed as

- indoor assembly areas (according to CSN 73 0831)
- buildings for accommodation of group OB 4 (according to CSN 73 0833)
- retail outlets and sales warehouses
- collective garages
- exhibition grounds
- film, television and radio studios
- stages and backstage, prop and scenery stores
- fire compartments in underground floors where the number of persons according to EN 73 0818 exceeds 10
- fire compartments with high fire loads (p > 120 kg/m2 )
 

In other required cases it is sufficient to install hose systems with a nominal hose clearance of at least 19 mm.

The hose systems shall be installed at a height of 1,1 to 1,3 metres above the floor (measured to the centre of the installation). They shall be positioned so that they can be easily accessed by persons and the doors can be opened 180°. A water supply must be provided for the installation to allow a minimum of 0,2 MPa overpressure at the least favourable point.

Usage:

After opening the cabinet, check that the jet line is closed, open the ball valve on the inlet (the system will water). From the reel, unwind the required amount of hose to the fire point and turn the jet head to set the desired water flow pattern.
